What Do Our Products Smell Like?
At in-person events and shows people will often stop to sniff an open tin or jar tester, and ask if our products have a scent. As a business that does most of our sales via e-commerce I get the smell question pretty often. So here’s what I typically tell people:
In general, our products are more subtly scented. We use steam-distilled essential oils and whole plant infusions to impart beneficial compounds and sensory experience, so if you’re used to heavily fragranced or artificially scented body care our products will be less smelly.
As well, it’s difficult to get an accurate scent profile just by sniffing a tin or jar of our product. The plant accents we use really blossom to life when the product is applied to the warmth of your skin.
Massage a pea-sized amount of the Calm Balm between your hands and a sweet soothing aroma of lavender, lemon balm, and cedar will come drifting up toward your nose.
Suds a bar of Mermud soap under warm water in the shower and you’ll experience a cool, crisp waft of peppermint and rosemary.
It’s all part of the total-body sensory experience we’ve intentionally formulated into each product, to nourish your skin and transport you into Alaska’s wild landscape.
