2 Ways to Mix Your Mud Mask (That Aren’t Just Water)
The Deep Blue Sea Mud Mask might be my favorite Waterbody product. It's a rich sensory experience that transports me to the sea (the aroma of the kelp is WOW!) and forces me to be in the present moment as I feel the gentle tightening as the mask dries and how soft and silky my face feels after washing it off!
Did you know that there are several ways to mix your mask?
Basic Mud Masking
The Deep Blue Sea Face Mask is great for refreshing tired skin & spirits, as its French green clay draws out dirt & impurities while kelp & peppermint offer a hit of vitamins & antioxidants with a cooling effect.
To keep things simple, you can mix your dry mask (1-2 tsp) with a small amount of water until it forms a slightly runny, spreadable paste. Add just a few drops at a time to get the right consistency.
But if you're feeling fancy, or your skin needs a little extra love, there are some other things you can try, too.
Extra Moisturizing Mud Mask
Instead of water, you can try mixing your mask with honey! If that feels too thick, you can thin it with a few drops of water. Honey is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air to your skin, leaving it extra moist and smooth after masking.
Exfoliating Boost for your Mud Mask
For a thicker, creamier treatment mix your mask with a few teaspoons of yogurt. The lactic acid found in yogurt will help to dissolve and slough off dead skin cells, while yogurt's natural fats nourish & moisturize your skin.
As you rinse and gently rub away your mask, the plants & minerals' natural textures will exfoliate dead skin cells, leaving you with soft and refreshed skin. Follow your mask up with your regular facial moisturizer to seal in all that good hydration & nourishment. (Looking at you, Wildflower Facial Oil).
