For the hair: Squeeze a few drops into the palm of your hand and smooth over fly-aways, dry ends, or frizz. Massage a few drops of oil into beards or facial hair to soften and protect the delicate facial skin beneath.
For the bath: Sprinkle a few dropperfuls into warm bathwater for a luxurious skin-softening soak. A walk in the woods
SITKA SPRUCE (Picea sitchensis), SHORE PINE (Pinus contorta), WESTERN RED CEDAR (Thuja plicata)
Native to the forests of Southeast Alaska, these evergreens offer skin-restoring properties and a heavenly forest aroma.
Having sensitive skin, I was hesitant to try body oils. Angie provided some great information about body oils on a blog post, so I decided to give it a try, and feel like I finally found my singular go-to beauty item. It is far superior to off-the-shelf body lotions designed for severely dry skin. I use the body oil immediately out of the shower, and it goes on lighter than a lotion but seems to trap more moisture. When using at other times, such as for dry hands, I always add a drop of moisture to help with absorption. The scent has slightly musky tones, but not overwhelming, and in my opinion, is preferable to the medicinal scent of most lotions designed for dry skin. In fact, I adore the smell of the red cedar resins in the oil - it is reminiscent of a walk in the woods. Bonus tip: Put some drops in a hot bath while listening to a recording of Tongass National Forest natural sounds made by Richard Nelson. It will be the next best thing to true forest bathing in Alaska's temperate rainforest.
I LOVE this body oil- the scent, the moisture, it's just the best. I can't wait to try other AK Waterbody products!
After every shower, I put some of this luxe oil on my beard and let it penetrate down into my oft-neglected skin and the result has been nothing short of rejuvenating. And for an added bonus, my hands are softer and more moisturized, too! Great product!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Evergreen Oil! Lovely and hydrating. The scent is wonderfully Alaskan and is the highlight of my self care journey. If you are considering purchasing the oil do yourself a favor and do it today. *Also I have to mention the artwork on the label is exquisite!
I lived in Southeast for 10 years and moved across the country last year. I was hoping this would smell like the AK forest and it really does. Its a lovely woodsy scent that's not too strong. It also makes my skin feel so soft and no problems with any sensitivity (I have super sensitive skin)!
